I am what many people call a true native to the Outer Banks. My family has been here for many years. In fact, my great-grandfather was once chief at the Caffey's Inlet Lifesaving Station, now known as The Sanderling Inn Restaurant. Both of my Grandfathers were residents here serving in the Navy and Coast Guard. Still today, the majority of my family resides here in Dare County.
As you know, our beach is much different now than it was in the years past. However, the same allure that has kept my family here for generations is as strong now as it was then. Not only am I proud to have the history on the Outer Banks that I do, but I am just as enthusiastic to live here and share this wonderful place with all who call the beach their own.
I am a graduate of the University of NC at Wilmington where my focus was business and finance. Prior to my real estate career, my experience included finance, commercial banking and self-started business ventures. Real estate was a natural progression for me. While it has had its challenges, the success of assisting people in accomplishing their personal and business goals has been as rewarding as anything I have done in business. I am grateful for each and every client that has partnered with me to do business on the Outer Banks. This partnership has allowed me to be a top producer on our beach since 2000. I have been fortunate to be the Beach Realty Agent of the Year for 5 out of the last 6 years and currently I am ranked in the Top 1% of all agents on the Outer Banks. Again, my success is just the combination of hard work and the people who I am fortunate enough to work for.
Personally, I am a husband and a father of two. Myself, my wife Rachel, and our children Emily and Seth live in Kitty Hawk. This is a great place to live, especially when you take the time to enjoy one of God's natural beauties... WATER. It seems like everything fun on the Outer Banks originates with water. Beach time, fishing, crabbing, surfing, kite surfing, windsurfing, water-skiing, wake boarding, boating and on and on. We are very blessed to live in a place like this. We try to take full advantage of most of the water related activities, but surfing is still my number one water passion. I started surfing when I was about 6 years old, and my enthusiasm for it is still as great as it has ever been. So in my "Free Time", I will still sneak away and get some surfing in. Actually, we have quite a surfing tradition in our family. Most of the guys and gals in our family make surfing a part of their lives. Some of the "gals" are getting really good too. But it's the guys who have made a name for themselves. In fact my brother and brother-in law are two of only three Outer Banks locals who have ever turned the corner into a professional surf career. With all this surfing going on you obviously need a place to buy surf gear. Of course that means you go to Emily and Seth's grandparents surf store, the Outer Banks Boarding Company. In addition to the great water related activities, don't forget the golf clubs because we have some great golf courses on the Outer Banks. My favorites are Duck Woods Golf Club, The Point and The Carolina Club. Finally, our family attends church at Liberty Christian Fellowship in Colington.
